About the Montys

Cory & I have been married for almost 4 years & we cannot get enough of our little boy! The last 4 years have flown by, but I have never learned so much! Or loved so much :) On a daily basis, I am overwhelmed with love for these boys who have taught me so much & can make me laugh on even my worst day. I try very hard not to take for granted how lucky I am to have a healthy son & husband. All I’ve ever wanted was this family… I’ve been dreaming of it for 10 years ☻

This is us!

Daddy --- Hilarious, outgoing, motorcycles, #1 Daddy, fishing, LOUD!, snowboarding, wrestling or snuggling his little buddy, friendly, running, goofy, nature, ♥’s us oh so much!

Mommy --- Devoted to my family, reading, luv the ☼, sarcastic, luv my friends, homebody, music, yummy food!, empathetic, Tivo changed my life, swimming, ♥ my boys!

Holdyn --- Charming, on the go, loves anything outside, cautious, bossy, helpful, motorcycle rides with dad & Carter, sports prodigy, social, silly, LOUD!, luvs his Little Bear show, dancing, excellent manners, hilarious, eats anything… & he will choose a good piece of bread over candy any day, considerate, quick tempered, loves his aunties, so smart, ♥’s his Mommy & Daddy “to pieces & pieces!”

We’ve had a fun (but sick filled) winter that included a CA trip & the very best Christmas I’ve ever had, however Summer could not come fast enough for us! Holdyn wants to get outside & jump, swim, run, throw balls, swing, bounce, & slide!! Mom & Dad want to camp, float the river, BBQ, & LIVE in the sun!

Elmo Extravaganza!!!

One Happy 2 Year Old!!

Holdyn's 2nd birthday party was so much fun! It was nice to be able to sit back and relax. His 1st bday party was a little chaotic and I realized pretty quickly that the most important thing is that Holdyn has fun and that we have our loved ones and friends around to celebrate our little man! So many people came to party with us and it made us realize how many people love Holdyn! So many of our friends have fallen in love with Holdyn and it's pretty hilarious to watch a bunch of tattooed, beer drinking guys show up to a 2 year old birthday party :) Thank you to all of you who partied with us! We appreciate our friends and family taking the time to help us celebrate this little boy who is our entire world! We love you!!

Holdyn loved his bouncy house and we went to the park early just so he would have time to bounce all by himself :) Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Sahleen!

Thank you to Grandma Monty for supplying all of the Elmo decorations! We were able to make it so fun for Holdyn and he loved every last detail!

Holdyn wasn't very interested in opening presents. He wanted to bounce, swing, slide, and run around! So I'm sorry to those of you whose present was not opened at the park. We eventually got them all opened by 10:00 Sunday night! Thanks everyone!

Holdyn wasn't very interested in eating cake either! He had a few bites and then he was "All done!" Thanks Grandma Banks for the cutest Elmo cake ever!

Bubbles are Holdyn's favorite thing. He cannot get enough! He got an Elmo Bubble Blower from Grandma and Grandpa Monty and he carries that thing EVERYWHERE!

On Sunday, Holdyn's actual birthday, we woke up bright and early and went off to the zoo! Grandma and Grandpa Banks came, as well as Maddy, Jordan, Grace, BreAnne, Grandma Sahleen, and Bryce and his 2 daughters.

It was so much fun to have a group of kids for Holdyn to run around with. He's usually just stuck with boring mom and dad :) Holdyn loved the animals, but I think his favorite part was the carousel...

After a LONG nap, we headed to Chili's with Grace and BreAnne to have a special birthday dinner...

Holdyn was such a good boy considering his late nights and busy days. He is my angel and I couldn't ask for a better little boy! Happy Birthday 2 year old!!

**Our Adventures**

We had a fantastic winter filled with some of the most joyous holiday fun! Cory and I cannot believe the amount of fun we had celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter with Holdyn. He makes everything so much more magical. He has added so much meaning to not only our special holidays, but even our day to day activities are so much more magical than ever before. Sledding down our snowboard ramps, looking at Christmas lights, making cookies, chucking snow, wrapping presents, snuggling up while watching the snow… doing all of these things with him made us even more aware of how appreciative we are to have him and each other. He is so refreshing. I can’t even begin to explain the excitement Cory and I felt as we did our “parental duties” on Christmas Eve. It was even better than when we were kids. During Christmas time, every time we were in the car, there was a constant yelling of “Lights! Lights! Lights!” coming from the back seat. We are having so much fun… not only with Holdyn, but with each other. I don’t think we’ve ever had this much fun in the 10 years… yes 10 years this September!... we’ve known each other. It is not always sunshine and rainbows :) But I love going through every new phase in our relationship, even if it’s not a fun one! I know we are learning lessons and the important thing is that we are growing together. Through all of the trials this last winter, we have really stood united, had fun, and not forgotten to act a little goofy. I truly believe that all you need is love, and THAT… we have sooo much of for each other. Winter was a blast, but we are ready for Summer!!! We are having so much fun swimming, dirt digging, playing at parks, BBQing, sidewalk chalking, fireworks, River Sundays, and a Disneyland/SeaWorld trip will be finishing off our Summer :) I can hardly wait!!
